Frankendael Foundation
Geïnspireerd op de achttiende eeuwse salon-d’art, wil Frankendael Foundation kunst dieper in de samenleving door laten klinken door een programma van exposities met een levendig debat- en ontmoetingsdiscours. Frankendael Foundation wil een duurzaam netwerk creëren op het gebied van actuele kunst, waarbij zij bruggen slaat naar ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij. Daarbij brengt zij het publieke en private domein samen. Frankendael Foundation wordt structureel gesteund door Merkelbach en Huize Frankendael, particuliere giften en donaties uit het bedrijfsleven.
Jaarlijks vindt een aantal grote tentoonstellingen plaats door het gehele huis, en een aantal kleinere in een of meerdere vertrekken. Frankendael Foundation – the cultural enterprise at Huize Frankendael - creates a sustainable community in art, by bringing together artists, collectors, art-critics as well as other disciplines and a diverse public. Doing so, Frankendael Foundation fills the gap between public and private domains. Former projects: The Living (ten days of video-art together with the Stedelijk Museum) and Oh Crisis! (perspectives on the crisis through art together with art collections of Dutch National Bank, Fortis and ING), Smooth and Striated (show together with University of Amsterdam, National Film Museum and art place ‘Nieuw Dakota’ on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze). The Art Dinners, where artists, visitors, collectors and critics meet and discuss during a creative dinner, are inspiring as well as connecting. In her existence the Foundation tries to rely on project based public as well as private funds. Frankendael Foundation is focussing on an (inter)national public of art-lovers and peoples from other fields in society.
