The Frankendael Foundation

Inspired by eighteenth century Salon-d’art, the Frankendael Foundation hopes for art to resonate throughout society by means of exhibitions, lively debates and networking. The Frankendael Foundation is looking to establish a contemporary art network that bridges with societal developments and in so doing, merges the public and private domains. Former projects were The Living (ten days of video-art together with the Stedelijk Museum), Oh Crisis! (perspectives on the financial crisis through art from corporate collections, the Dutch National Bank, Fortis and ING), The Smooth & The Striated (on Gilles Deleuze, in conjunction with the University of Amsterdam, the Eye Institute and Nieuw Dakota). The Art Dinners, where artists, visitors, collectors and critics meet during a creative dinner, are inspiring as well as connecting.
The Frankendael Foundation receives structural support from Merkelbach and Huize Frankendael, private gifts and corporate donations.

Each year a multitude of large exhibitions are held throughout the house, as well as a number of smaller ones taking place in one or several rooms. Each exhibition is accompanied by a programme of lectures, debates and even sometimes, concerts. For further information about the Frankendael Foundation please visit: www.frankendaelfoundation.nl
